Living Hope

Living Hope is one unitarian Christian ministry with both a global vision and the diligence to bring it to life.  A network of biblical unitarian churches and home fellowships, LH has passionately pursued Christ’s mandate to make disciples of all nations through its teaching, missions, publishing, and church-planting programs.

One of the most significant aspects of Living Hope’s ministry is the wide variety of means by which it engages our world with the gospel, curating a range of educational content in the form of online classes, live-streams, recorded video series, podcasts, articles, and books (both in print and electronic).

From its headquarters in Latham, New York, USA, Pastor Sean Finnegan faithfully leads weekly church services, while large-scale community events welcome both LH members and also unitarian Christians from all backgrounds and denominations—countless families have been served by their annual Family Camp, Teen Camp, and Kingdom Fest (fantastic ways for unitarian groups and families to bond closer together and also to meet new like-minded believers!). LH also supports local fellowships in the U.S. (in the home and/or online), as well as global communities of unitarian Christian believers. Of special note is LH’s progress on the African continent.  In the Congo, for example, LH directly supports local ministers and coordinates an educational program for children. Earlier this year, Living Hope was also able to send $145,000 over to Pastor Armel Ngo in Brazzaville, Congo to build a church (and he is almost ready to hold regular services).

Living Hope has also debuted a new logo featuring a dove–a symbol of their commitment to the experience of the gifts of the spirit and the hope that came to Noah after the flood.  Their new website, the fruit of over two years of work, features a new environment for classes that keeps track of student progress, allows for short quizzes, and a discussion forum.  It also features a new map feature. Users of the site make accounts and mark themselves either explorers or members (both free). Explorers don’t necessarily agree with Living Hope’s statement of faith, but still want to use the site. Members agree with our beliefs and have the option to put themselves on the map. Similar to the UCA map, the Living Hope map allows people to find people in their area and directly get in contact with them. Because of the greater amount of doctrinal agreement to put oneself on the map, users are more likely to find people compatible for fellowship.

To help empower individuals to evangelize and lead bible studies with their friends and neighbors, Living Hope has also recently developed Forge studies. These free leader guides require no preparation and walk a small group through a chapter of the bible, a doctrine, or an aspect of Christian living. LH’s goal is to make it possible for individuals to become small groups; small groups to become sustainable home fellowships; and home fellowship to become healthy thriving churches.

How can you get connected to the incredible work that LHIM is doing for the message of the one God and his human son? LH’s resources include the Living Hope Webcasts (live-streamed church services), Weekly Bible Teachings, free online classes on a variety of biblical topics—all of which can be delivered to you via email updates so you don’t miss out on new content.

If you’d like to meet some of the invaluable talent behind LH’s efforts, including Pastor Sean Finnegan, stop by their booth at the UCA Conference.

A tremendous Thank You to Living Hope for both partnering with the UCA’s 2023 Conference and for standing alongside the UCA and its members to share the unitarian Christian message far and wide!

Fundraising Success!

The UCA Board of Directors would like to extend a sincere THANK YOU to the many charitable people who supported the UCA’s fundraising initiative from last December-January. These donations, which exceeded our expectations, were generously matched by The Grace Fund, an equity foundation for unitarian Christian churches and ministries.

Each of your contributions have directly impacted the UCA’s ability to spread unitarian theology, support unitarian ministries, connect like-minded believers, and more. Be on the lookout for the new unitarian videos, publications, and public events which have been directly energized by your generosity. We have all been greatly encouraged and inspired by your vision and commitment to the cause!

Thank you again to The Grace Fund. We can’t wait to see how both the UCA and the Grace Fund continue to support the unitarian Christian movement in the years to come! If you’d like more information on how you can join the cause, please visit https://www.unitarianchristianalliance.org/donate/, and prayerfully consider becoming a UCA Partner with a donation of $10/month or greater (though even the smallest amount means so much).

Thank you again to everyone who has so generously supported this mission!

YahwehTV / The Grace Fund

Another Partner of the Unitarian Christian Alliance and a much-appreciated sponsor of the 2022 UCA Conference is YahwehTV!

YahwehTV is an exciting new unitarian Christian streaming platform currently in development by long-time biblical unitarian activist and friend of the UCA, Gary R. Anderson.  The channel will be accepting content submissions from unitarian churches and ministries in order to support its mission to spread the unitarian Christian message to the world.  Those familiar with the UCA’s own mission will understand why we are all excited about Gary’s vision of a 24/7 channel constantly showcasing the best unitarian Christian content online!

While at the UCA Conference this year, be sure to stop by and see Gary, who would love to gather interviews with conference-goers!  We can’t wait to see where God takes Yahweh TV in the coming years.  The channel is currently in development and is now preparing to expand to various streaming outlets. Be on the lookout for future announcements related to this exciting project!

We’d like to thank Gary also for his efforts with The Grace Fund, a charitable equity foundation serving as a multi-generational granting mechanism for unitarian Christian churches and ministries. TGF has already donated generously to unitarian bible translation projects and other unitarian ministry efforts, and we’re all looking forward to watching how the Grace Fund continues to help unitarian Christian ministries do big things!

Thank you again to Yahweh TV and The Grace Fund for partnering with the UCA to facilitate this year’s conference!

Integrity Syndicate

The Integrity Syndicate, founded by bible student and theological researcher Theophilus Josiah, is a group focused squarely on reviving a “first-century” and “apostolic” perspective on Christian theology—an outlook centered on a message about the one God and his human son Jesus.

In addition to promoting unitarian theology and Christology, the IntegritySyndicate.com website covers a wide variety of biblical and theological topics and analyzes the fundamentals of Christian belief via dozens of articles and recommended resources.  The site also features an interconnected array of twenty-six apologetics web portals focused on key issues of Christian theology.  These include TrueUnitarian.com (The Foundations of Biblical Unitarianism), ApostlesDoctrine.net (Apostles doctrine of repentance, baptism and the gift of the Holy Spirit), WayOfChrist.faith (a social site) and many more.  Fifteen of these websites are focused on unitarian Christian issues, including UnderstandingLogos.com, BiblicalAgency.com, IamStatements.com, and TrinityDelusion.net. For a full list of websites, see https://integritysyndicate.com/about-us/.  Students and participants in the ongoing theological debates between unitarian, trinitarian, and modalistic theologies will no doubt find such resources invaluable.

While emphasizing acting in Love, Truth, and in the Spirit, the Integrity Syndicate makes a strong, restorationist call for Christians to believe that the Bible is primary, intelligible, and cohesive. At the same time, it reminds us that biblical study and the process of theological restoration may disrupt widely-popular ideas.  One of the things which I have appreciated the most about the Integrity Syndicate is their willingness to consistently pursue and embody these values, boldly challenging our biblical, theological, and historical assumptions for the sake of the truth.

A sincere ‘thank you’ is owed to Integrity Syndicate for both their diligence in forwarding the message of unitarian Christian theology, and also for their generous sponsorship of the 2022 UCA Conference! I can’t wait to see what great material the Integrity Syndicate will be producing the rest of this year and in the years to come!

Integrity Syndicate

A syndicate is “a group of people who work together and help each other in order to achieve a particular aim.”  For the Integrity Syndicate, a group of bible-believing, truth-seeking Christians founded by bible-student Theophilus Josiah, the aim is “the restoration of first-century apostolic Christianity”—a project grounded directly in the truth about the one God, his human son, and God’s message and expectations for humanity.

The IntegritySyndicate.com website covers topics beyond unitarian theology and analyzes the fundamentals of Christian belief via dozens of articles and recommended resources.  The site also features a family of twenty-six interconnected web portals created and curated with apologetics in mind and dedicated to specific issues of Christian theology.  These include TrueUnitarian.com (The Foundations of Biblical Unitarianism), ApostlesDoctrine.net (Apostles doctrine of repentance, baptism and the gift of the Holy Spirit), WayOfChrist.faith (a new social site) and many more.  Fifteen of these sites are dedicated to unitarian Christian issues, including UnderstandingLogos.com, BiblicalAgency.com, IamStatements.com, and TrinityDelusion.net. For a full list of sites, see https://integritysyndicate.com/about-us/.

One of the things I appreciate about the Integrity Syndicate’s main site is its wide variety of articles on unitarian topics (found here), and storehouse of links to recommended unitarian books and other terrific resources.  The host of helpful articles feature in-depth investigations and explanations on such hotly-debated and important issues as the Logos, the Evolution of the Doctrine of the Trinity, the Preexistence of Christ, the I Am Statements of Jesus, Biblical Agency, and much more.  Students of the ongoing controversy between unitarian, trinitarian, and modalistic theologies will no doubt find such resources valuable in their quests for the truth.  Likewise, unitarian Christians interested in apologetics will find their quivers full of fresh arrows for their debates.

Many thanks to Integrity Syndicate for not only their ongoing efforts to spread the message of unitarian Christian theology, but for sponsoring the upcoming UCA Conference in Nashville.  Looking forward to the great things to come through our partnership, and to more excellent work on the web!

Living Hope International Ministries

Continuing our spotlight of UCA Conference Partners, next up is Living Hope International Ministries (LHIM), headquartered in Latham, New York, USA!

LHIM is a biblical unitarian network of churches and home fellowships dedicated to making disciples of all nations.  The organization does this by providing educational resources (sermons, classes, articles, books) and fostering community through events (Family Camp, Teen Camp, Kingdom Fest) and local fellowship (in the home and/or online).

The ministry is firmly grounded in a commitment to promoting biblical monotheism and the kingdom gospel far and wide, as well as promoting holistic Christian living.  Their terrific website (https://lhim.org/) features a virtual treasure trove of biblical teachings and other resources in book, article/tract, video, and podcast formats.  Especially helpful are the Living Hope Webcasts (live-streamed church services), Weekly Bible Teachings, and free online classes on a variety of biblical topics.  Recently, LHIM has also published an insightful book by unitarian Christian author Jeff Deuble.

One of the things I’ve greatly appreciated about LHIM is its commitment to providing resources across a wide variety of mediums.  There is something for everyone here, and in any format you prefer.  In our multimedia society, it is important that we not only provide people with the content they need but in the formats they prefer and in the places they expect.  LHIM’s multi-platform/multi-medium approach ensures the gospel goes far and wide, and theirs is clearly a model to follow for other ministries looking to effectively engage.

Speaking of wide distribution, another thing I’ve admired about LHIM is its commitment to its global outreach initiative.  LHIM has made significant progress in spreading the gospel and supporting ministries on the African continent.  In the Congo, LHIM directly supports local ministers and coordinates a child education program, funding over 100 children to attend school.

You can sign up here for LHIM ministry email updates (https://lhim.org/email-updates/).  You won’t want to miss out on the weekly content updates, event announcements, and the significant work that LHIM is doing for the gospel every day.

If you’d like to meet some of the wonderful folks behind LHIM, including Pastor Sean Finnegan, stop by their booth at the UCA Conference—an event which they have generously sponsored.

Thank you to Living Hope International Ministries for partnering with the UCA in our mutual mission to share the message of the One God and support believers!

UCA Conference 2021 – Safety

We absolutely can’t wait to see you at the historic, first-ever UCA Conference in beautiful Nashville!
As we prepare for a terrific weekend full of fellowship, food, and important information, it will be helpful to keep health and safety in mind.

While masks or vaccinations are not required for attending, we are requesting that all attendees be symptom-free and expect everyone to take appropriate measures to maintain their own health and the health of others. If you are concerned, please rest assured that the UCA Board of Directors is committed to maintaining healthy practices, including appropriately spaced seating, attendance limitations, safe food service procedures, free hand sanitization products available on every table, and free masks for those who choose to utilize them. In helping you to monitor your own health, there will also be a thermometer at the front table for your convenience.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you on October 15-17th. Again, seating is limited, so don’t miss out!

Introducing Theophilus Press… and a new book!

We are very excited to announce the debut of a new imprint: Theophilus Press!

Theophilus Press is a publisher of theological, philosophical, and historical scholarship aimed at academic excellence and the advance of new perspectives in Christian thought.  In addition to partnering with contemporary scholars, Theophilus Press will also be publishing works from the unsung voices of Christian past, producing updated and critical editions of scholarly works which deserve another look.

Members and partners of the UCA will definitely want to keep their eyes on this new venture, as issues of monotheism, Christology, Trinity, and Church History will be front and center.

Its very first publication is available right now—an updated, scholarly edition of English unitarian Thomas Emlyn’s famous little essay on the deity of Christ, An Humble Inquiry into the Scripture-Account of Jesus Christ (1702).

Emlyn’s book, which led to his conviction and imprisonment by the English government for blasphemy, is a succinct and erudite argument for the subordination of Jesus Christ to God the Father. Beloved by several generations of unitarian Christians in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, its arguments are no less powerful now than when it was first published. This new updated edition features modernized language, improved citations, a detailed historical introduction, and a treasure trove of fascinating notes by Dale Tuggy and Kegan Chandler. You won’t want to miss Emlyn’s insightful and useful argumentation and the inspiring story of his faithful and courageous passion for the truth!

UCA members who are Partners (those who have graciously donated more than $120 per year) will be receiving this book a thank you gift for their significant help in advancing our two-fold mission to advance unitarian theology and to connect like-minded believers. Those in the continental United States and Canada will receive the paperback version by around the middle of September 2021, and other Partners will receive the ebook in two formats.

If you have not yet partnered with the UCA, the book is now available for purchase here, and will also be available at the upcoming UCA Conference in Nashville, TN, October 15-17. Be sure to grab your copy of this insightful and important book, and be on the lookout for more great books by Theophilus Press.

Many blessings!
